New Skates vs. Used Skates
When it comes time to deciding what kind of skates you should be buying for your future hockey star, consider this. Braking in new skates can sometimes be a painful experience. If you’re trying to entice your kid into hockey or skating, you want to make it as enjoyable as possible. As well once the child fully brakes in the skates, it is time to move on to the next size and starting all over again with the initial painful experience.
An economical way to avoid this is to buying used skates from a good source like a sport consignment shop. As well when you are ready to move on to the next size up you can simply buy a good pair of used skates in the next size and resell you old ones minimizing the economical impact of sport equipment making your dollar go farther.
How the program works for the seller:
Say you set the price at $50 and it sells within the first week you would get 60% of the sale or $30 and G-Max would get 40% or in this case $20.
The initial consignment contract lasts for a period of 10 weeks with the selling price being reduced by 10% each week until it gets sold or reaches to $0, at which time the ownership of the skates is forfeited and the skates are given away to charity. At anytime during the 10 weeks the seller may come in and pick up the consigned skates if they have not been sold. However, we ask that if the seller reset the price that they must wait 1 week from the time the seller pick up the consigned skates to enter into another consignment contract.
